Substance Abuse Professional Assessments

What is a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP)?

A Substance Abuse Professional, or “SAP”, is a professional who evaluates workers who have violated a workplace alcohol/drug requirement (US DOT / Non-Regulated).

Using information gathered in the evaluation the SAP makes recommendations (education, counselling, treatment), along with a follow-up testing plan for the worker.

Every individual is unique.

The purpose of the evaluation is to determine if your alcohol and drug use is a problem, and if so, what kind of help would be beneficial.

Since the recommendations are based on the results of your assessment it is not possible to pre-determine an outcome or Return-to-Duty timeframe.
